Fostering Specialist Course in Vascular Anomalies

Description

Vascular anomalies affect at least 5 % of the population and can cause morbidity. The terminology has been extremely improper before, but since ISSVA (International Society of the Study of Vascular Anomalies) decided the terminology in Rome 1996 it has been easier to communicate regarding diagnoses, prognoses and treatments. The etiopathogenesis of vascular anomalies remains poorly understood and many treatments are still unsatisfactory.  This course will help you to understand, diagnose and treat vascular anomalies e.g., capillary-, venous-, arterial- malformations or combination of them. It will include e.g. histopathology, surgery, laser, interventional radiology, propranolol treatment of hemangiomas, psychological aspects and “tips and tricks”.

You will experience live demonstration of surgery and laser and you may bring your own problem cases.

It is a very fascinating and rewarding work to treat vascular anomalies and usually you need a multidisciplinary approach. We think we can help you to enlighten this interesting field!
